Traumatized.

Last night while I was laying in bed, a cockroach fell on my face.

This resulted in me screaming and running out of the house and then crying* until 5 AM (the incident itself occurred at 11:30-ish). Needless to say, I am exhausted**.

Cockroaches are my absolute biggest fear. Not all bugs, just roaches. I do not trust anything that can survive a nuclear fallout. And I am not scared of them in that funny sort of way. Seeing a roach will send me into a full blown panic attack.

And unfortunately, in Houston we get those big outside roaches (they live on trees or something...I'm not an entomologist).

So...yeah...not much posting from me today. Too traumatized to type.

*By crying I actually mean SOBBING. Like my entire body shaking, couldn't breathe, wailing...the whole nine yards.

** It takes a lot of work to be this neurotic.

I used to live in Houston and we used to see them crawling on the ceiling after we went to bed. Our landlord told us to pour bleach down the drain and then keep all of the drains pulled shut. It worked. Icky.

That is horrifying! Did you catch it?

Once I was home alone in my parent's house and when I came in from walking the dog this moth-like thing which was probably 5 inches long and an inch thick came in and I couldn't find it for about a week! I kept the doors shut everytime I went into a different room because I thought it would follow me.

Although it's horrible... I almost pee'd my pants laughing. Not that it's a funny matter. =)

I am sitting here with my hand over my mouth in disbelief shaking. Not kidding. This is my ultimate fear in life. ULTIMATE!!

Once i just SAW one in my apartment and sat on a stool in a crouched position for 4 hours calling hotels to check on availability. I made B scrub the apartment with bleach and I was shaking for days.

this is an awful experience for you. My thoughts are with you.

Oh...my...gosh. That sounds like the most horrifying experience EVER. I have goosebumps and a yucky feeling in my mouth right now thinking about if that had happened to me.

I didn't experience my first cockroach until I moved to the South in 2005 and my fiance (bf at the time) had a kitchen filled with them. I remember waking up around 3am to go get a drink of water and when I turned on the light they all scattered under the cabinets. BARF

I am so sorry for your terrible night!! =0(

Poor friend! That is HORRIBLE! We have them in TX, and one was crawing on my ceiling once RIGHT above my head one night, and it freaked the fire out of my. I couldn't sleep for a month. I am sooo sorry!

I would have reacted the same way. Being from Texas, I totally get it, and I think you need to move to the mid-west where I have yet to see one! So sorry!

If that happened to me, I would have reacted the same way! In an old apartment I saw one in the bath tub once and refused to shower in there for weeks! (Luckily, we had two bathrooms or it could have gotten ugly!!)

Oh my gosh, I'm dying! We found a scorpion in the kitchen the other night and I'm still walking around the house in 3" platform wedges JUST IN CASE. I'm so sorry!

He he he. I think I would cry. I'm going away to stay at the future family's house for a holiday. My boy delighted in telling me they have beetles which crawl on the ceiling only to fall on the bed. It's like they are playing, get the human!

If that would have happened to me... I would have DIED! (Or not been able to sleep for MANY, MANY nights!) I absolutely HATE roaches, and I act hysterical when I see one!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today - I'm loving yours!

OMG! I totally sympathize with you... I had one crawl across my leg while I was in bed and 9 months pregnant! I thought I was going to go into labor when I realized what the hell it was. (Initially I had assumed that it was my husband - I was wrong!)

i feel your mother effing pain. roaches are my biggest fear too! i took kylie for a walk (i carry a flashlight at night!) and saw one on the curb. i immediately dragged her happy ass back inside. there's no way i was going to stand out there in the dark in the presence of roach. EFF THAT. she had to go to the bathroom inside. i don't care, i was taking one for the team.

I would do the same thing. I haven't had many run ins with cockroaches but I am terrified of mice in my house. One scurried over my foot when I was a teenager and I think it has gone downhill from there.
