An Open Letter...

Dear fellow Houston drivers,

That liquid? Falling from the sky? It is called rain.

As a matter of fact, Houston is a hurricane-prone city. Rain should neither be shocking nor panic-inducing.

From now on, when it is 7AM and it begins to drizzle, DO NOT slam on your brakes. While I do believe in road safety, creating a parking lot for absolutely no reason is not necessary.

Hugs,
Sarah

I have never seen people drive like they do in Houston. They back up in the middle of the road. I swear I saw someone back up in the middle if 59! Crazy. Rain - forget it.

why is it that as soon as some sort of mild precipitation begins to fall from the sky, EVERYONE in a major city forgets IMMEDIATELY how to drive?! i will never understand.. idiots.

People in Memphis drive crazy in the rain, too, like they've never seen it before!

St. Louisans have the SAME problem. Twenty bajillion times works when it flurries (not snows, but flurries).

LA people are just like this! Very frustrating! If it snowed here, oh my god would it be bad!

You are totally not making me miss Houston with that...but it's pretty bad in the ATL, too!

Dude, I could never get over the way people acted like they'd never seen rain before when I lived there. Or how the traffic lights would go out with the tiniest of storms.

hahahaha! That's exactly how I felt about the drivers in San Diego! They were shocked to see rain though... but it's not like it's the first time! I hate parking lots in the middle of the road!

Oh man oh man, do I know what you mean. I love how you refer to it as "creating a parking lot for no reason." I never thought of it that way, but it's so true!

Whenever it rains, even an eensy bit, it's like every driver just goes "OH MY GOD, THA RAIN. MUST GO UNDER 10 MPH."

SERIOUSLY!!! I've just given up with trying to commute home when it's raining........I've started to wait it out (a.k.a. work really late) instead of getting on the road with the hundreds of thousands of peeps who don't understand how to drive in the rain!

Traffic seems worse this school year than last (do you agree?) and the few days that it's rained have just made it 10 times worse. I live in P'land and work in the Galleria area and it's taking me for-ever! to get to work (about an hour). :(

Can you forward this letter to all Nashville drivers?! They seem to have the same problem...

Glad you stopped by my blog. I freaking love yours, by the way! I'm your newest follower! :)

LOl I feel the same way here about Californian drivers. We had a thunderstorm Saturday morning you think it makes people forget how to drive.
